FSSAI:
- FSSAI is responsible for laying down standards for articles of food and regulating their manufacture, storage, distribution, sale, and import to ensure the availability of safe and wholesome food for human consumption.
- Eligible food business operators (FBO) like manufacturers, storage, transporters, retailers, marketers, distributors, etc. need to take a license/registration.
Different types of registrations under FSSAI are:
- FSSAI Registration: This is an FSSAI registration and is applicable to eligible food business operators (FBO) having turnover up to 12 lakhs per annum.
- State License: State license is applicable to eligible food business operators (FBO) having turnover up to 20 crores per annum.
- Central License: Central License is applicable to eligible food business operators (FBO) having turnover greater than 20 crores per annum.
